To blog or not to blog
March 12th, 2005 by Ivo
My opinion about blogs changed. I once saw them as yet another outlet for people who have absolutely nothing to say. The web exploded with blogs about people who needed to tell the world how they walked their dog, that their boss yelled at them again today and many other trivial everyday nonsense.
However, once you see past the 'blogging just because you can', you come across a world of blogs of people who actually DO have something to say.
In these blogs, I've noticed that blogging is a very nice way of spreading knowledge, and it can be a valuable addition to documentation. Since one of the downsides of ATK is the steep learning curve, which has everything to do with the lack of documentation, I thought a blog where developers can post their thoughts, ideas and tips 'n tricks, would perhaps be a good idea. A quick survey on the ATK mailinglist revealed that any source of information about ATK would be welcomed.
So here it is. The title may sound arrogant, but since we actually believe that ATK rules, and want the world to agree with us, we should expose you to the phrase 'ATK rules' as much as we can.
We hope this will be a useful resource for ATK developers, and if we write crap, don't hesitate to tell us.
