Ibuildings and Zend announce partnership
I've blogged about our visit to the Zend offices before, and back then I was not able to disclose yet what we did there. We can finally speak openly about it.
Zend, in an effort to better serve the Dutch market with a local presence, has selected Ibuildings to be their official representative in The Netherlands. This means that we are going to support the Dutch PHP community with the entire Zend product range, training and support offerings.
This is a big step for us, and I think it is a great reward for having provided professional PHP development services over the last years. I'm very excited about the partnership, the people I've met at Zend in the last months are all great people, and I think we will have a fruitful relationship for all parties involved.

Congratulations! I had expected something like that after the visit-to-israel post. Very good news for you guys.
Less good for me. One of my life goals is to work for Zend, and that’s just become harder, now that Zend has no reason to open a dutch office anymore

I thought we would see a Zend_ATK component in the Zend Framework. IMHO the ZF lacks focus. They have two database components and two form component proposals, they are also hung up on an object layer, also hung up on MVC, nothing in ZF can crank out forms like atk with its fixed simple node model. About the only thing I thought of using ZF for was it’s Lucene integration, but that has had problems in the last release. What else? Why would I tie database logic to that framework…they are in trouble there. Maybe you can help…

heh, don’t think I didn’t consider. Vlissingen is a bit too far from Woudenberg (if you don’t know: near Amersfoort). I definitely did consider applying when I recently was looking for a new job.
It’s a bit too far, and right now I have a wonderful job as well. Maybe one day when Ibuildings opens an office in Amersfoort
