ON 7/12/09 I RAN MY USB APPLE KEYBOARD IN THE DISHWASHER RUNNING IT THROUGH THE DRY CYCLE AS WELL. WHEN I INITIALLY PLUGGED IT IN TO MY MAC PRO, IT DID NOT WORK. I NOTICED IT WAS STILL A LITTLE WET, SO I STUCK IT OUT IN THE ARIZONA SUN AT 109 DEGREES FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS (ITS A DRY HEAT). I THEN PLUGGED IT IN TO MY PRO AND TA-DA. IT CAME OUT AWESOME AND THE KEYS DON’T STICK ANY MORE. I AM TYPING ON IT NOW AND HAVE BEEN ALL DAY WITH NO PROBLEMS. I STILL DON’T RECOMMEND DOING THIS, HOWEVER IF YOU DO DECIDE TO DO THIS, MAKE SURE THE KEYBOARD IS “COMPLETELY” DRY BEFORE PLUGGING IT IN.

PS-YOU MAY WANT TO WEAR A LITTLE SUNBLOCK IF YOU INTEND TO STAY AND WATCH IT DRY. CHEERS.

This is a cool project and look at the differences, wow! I wash my keyboards as well from time to time, it is hand wash though. I don’t have the privilege of having a dishwasher. Saves me money from buying new keyboards.

To increase the drying process you could use a hair-dryer the next time
